Part 2 - Starting November - December 2004:

Week X - "The City of North Keep and the Festival of the King - Gabriele's Interlude"

All you could think of was to run. Run and get down there before they were destroyed.

Flashes of The Night of Hammers ran through your mind, though a mall part of you wonders why? It wasn't as if these were my friends... Only aquantences met through Lucien.

Regardless, adrenalin flowing you push on to circle the arena to close.
Something down inside is stopping you from turning tail and saving yourself?

Running, you feel like the whole world is moving quicker than you. You hear the cry "Est Sularus oth Mithas" - and feel a surge of energy, propelling you forward...

You glance down to see knights rallying beside their leader (Head Crown Knight) seemingly fighting against an invisible force trying to break their morale. Several town guard blanch and drop to their knees, some falling flat out dead.

A fireball explodes in their midst. Glad memories of Eddar blowing up invisible spiders come to mind but then your stomach drops - it's not a Minotaur laughing at the burning bodies...

Your getting closer... Why is it taking so long?

The knights clash with the two red creatures. Their leader breaks by the two red frogs and advances on the Grey Frog. It speaks some words of magic, and the leader stops mid-stride... Inredibly, the knight dies before your eyes. Seemingly, his body has collapsed upon itself!

You finally make your way around to the back of the frog. He hasn't noticed you, a good sign if you ever saw one. Sneaking quickly, you note alot of the guards and knights have fallen...

Finally. Striking Distance.

Leaping out of the shadow of a barrier wall to strike at the BBG. As your mid stride he turns to you as if he was watching you the whole time.

"I see another bug has come to meet my greatness? How would you prefer to be dispatched?"

Something odd in your bursts out... Defiance? Pride in standing in front of your foe honorably? I've been spending too much time with Lucien!

You boldly speak back to him, in an equal amounts pride and arrogance:

"I shall be dispatched to the morgue... Where I shall see your body burned to the Abyss!"

Undaunted, you strike at him. The creature screams out, enraged that you have made it past his defenses, obviously over-confident. He then turns to you and speaks "Chaos". Seemingly all the sounds from the world stop, and the world spins as you feel like you've been slapped out of your mind.

You feel yourself being hit several times, and then thrown against the same wall that covered your attack, and you feel numb, the life force starting to drain from you...

In a half conscious half dazed state you look on as he aproaches you. It was hard to tell what was really happening... At first the sounds of battle dimmed, with very little standing in it's way, it starts towards you. It holds up a hand, and points.

Then it happened. Behind the frog a man appeared. Strangely familiar, he looks down upon you with wisened but sad eyes. Those eyes seem familiar, but you can't put your mind on it... The image disappears as a short Elf in robes blasts a pulse of energy at the frog. The frog turns and hurls a fireball at the new oncommer, but it dissipates on the elf. The image of the elf wavers, seems to get shorter, then reverts to it's original sight. Your eyes roll back... Trying to stay conscious... But with a sudden boom, the world goes dark.

Your not sure how long you stayed like that, but you remember dreaming. Dreaming of Dragons and knights and frogs with arcane powers. You feel the dazed realization that you no longer feel crippled. You open your eyes, unfocused, trying to see who is standing above you. An elf? No, a Kender? Your mind, still muddled can't seem to figure it out. Definitely not Filtch. Those eyes... Those eyes hold little joy, and make you feel sad. You hear him say "My name is Tamaru. Relax, your safe now."

The next thing you remember, there are people miling about...

Week 12 - "The City of North Keep and the Festival of the King Part 3"

"The City of North Keep and the Festival of the King Part 3"

Gabriele didn't know how long he was out, but when he awoke, there were signs of movment around.

People were investigating what was going on, some were vagrants, looters, even a few city guard trying to figure out what had happened.

There were scortch marks in several places where fireballs had landed, an area of rubble and frost, and what looked like a wizards circle enblazed on the ground.

As Gabriele got up, a short tincan approached him. In full platemail, the only indicator of its race was a long tuft of hair comming out the top of the helm. Obviously not filtch, he opened the visor and the two greeted one annother.

All the while, Gabriele gathered his stuff, and found a note on the floor. It was a letter from Commander Gervain to the evil being who attacked the arena.

Quickly gathering his witts, Gabrielle invited Cricket to "Come and save the King". Sounding like alot of fun, he decided to come along. Finding a horse (actually the Sword Knight's Mount) they began their journey accross town.

Meanwhile back at the castle gates Edder, Lucien and Thomas were preparing to enter the castle. As the time came, they were first in line, and gained access. Upon entering they were greeted by two surley men, who asked them to accompany them to Commander Gervan. He wished to introduce them to the future King. Seeing as that would put them where they wanted to be, they accepted the escort.

Arriving in the antechamber of the King, they were introduced to both Shredler and (New King). Durring introductions, the old king left. A few moments later, Edder noticed just in time, an Assasin charging towards the king. The party and Gervan lept to life and took down the assasin, though not in time for the King to be unharmed. Thomas healed the king, and the group made plans for defense durring the ceremony.

The group was asked to inspect the people as they arrived. Though some had already arrived, they did their best to do so. After the hall filled, the King removed his crown, and the ceremonial fight began.

Several blows occurred, more from the old king at first, but then the new King started dominating. About this time, Lucien noted a difference in the dress code of the guards sourounding the stage. Mentioning this to Edder, he quickly cast fly on both of them, so they may make a quick trip to the stage if needed.

Soon the old king fell to his back, with oos and awes from the crowd, the ceremony seemed to be comming to a close. Suspecting danger, Edder slipped to the back of the room and cast invisibility, then proceeded towards the stage. About this instant Commander Gervan made a move towards the new King, who had his back to him.

Outside, Gabriele and Cricket had gotten to the front gates. Being his usual forward self, Gabriele displayed his badge given to him by the Commander and demanded entry to the guards. Snickering at him, the guards wouldn't budge, and laughed at the prospect of the King being attacked by the Commander.

Retreating from the gates, Cricket mentioned something about making the horse fly, and cast a spell to walk over the keep walls.

The first blow took the King by surprise. As the blow landed, Lucien charged through the air. After gaining the first half of the distance, Edder spotted a thin beam of light racing towards lucien. Banking away quickly, he was just missed by the fireball which exploded from Luciens body, killing several onlookers below and smashing out the skylight above. From the shadows of the corner, Tor-Hooch grinned his grin as the Solomnic continued through the air smoking... Arriving at the stage, Lucien landed in Gervans flank, preparing his attack.

Countering with ice and rocks, Eddar made his presense noted, and was quickly the victum of a retaliatory Hold Person spell. About this instant, a horse with two humanoids burst through the skylight, and charged straight

at the Commander! However, the Commander was not to be a pushover... Stopping the warhorse with a single hand, he stopped them dead in their tracks.

Dismounting from the horse, Gabrielle and Cricket joined the fray. Thinking that a minataur in mid-air was probably not a normal thing, he decided to dispell the hold effect from Edder. Sourounded, the Commander turned his attention to the group which now sourounded him...

- Observed outter hallway, guards were comming and going, went for upper floor between guard movements
- Upstairs they found a very large ordimental door, and were met with the sound of Tor-Hooch speaking to someone (though could not make out what he was saying)

- Just as they were about to charge in, Cricket sent his cat in ahead, to distract those inside
- The party moved in, seeing only Tor-Hooch and two Minataurs in Fullplate between them and victory. As the melee attackers crossed the middle of the room, Tor-Hooch turned to the party and stated "Welcome to my home!"...

The two minatours turned and cast dispel magic at the party, striping them of several enchantments. Almost simutaneously, Eddar crested the balcony above the surface of the balcony and saw that there were six Draconians jumping down onto the party, including a very large Sivak.

The party took action, with Lucien standing toe to toe with the Sivak, Gabrielle trying to close on Tor-Hooch to take advantage of his silence sphere, and Eddar throwing spells from above. Cricket cast a spell of death and advanced on Tor-Hooch, who's face went slightly pale at the sight of a Kender invoking a touch of death.
