Johns D&D Campaign - Spring 2002
So, you're here...But, where is here exactly??
You headed off from Brancheshire about 17 days ago or so... You kinda lost track during the storm. Oh, yeah... The storm. It was almost a solid week of being battering by the weather, most of the time you weren't really sure which was was down... Did a fair amount of damage too... You must have spent about 3 days bailing out the hold... (It felt like more.)
Sometime during the night, you made landfall... Not that the local land is much to look at. You're in a ... village ... to say the least. If it qualifies as that. It certainly doesn't look big. There can't be more than about 15 ramshackle buildings, and the whole town came out to greet you when the ship hit the dock. Yup, the whole town. All 40 of them.
Captain said he wasn't quite sure where you'd landed, the townspeople don't see too certain either. They're certainly giving you strange looks. Perhaps they haven't seen such well dressed people, they don't seem to be all that well off themselves.
The captain, Sir Mansell Bailey, (wherever he got that title) thinks he should be able to get the necessary repairs done within a fortnight, providing that these people have the proper supplies.
He did apologize profusely, and made arrangements for you to stay ashore while the work was being done. In fact, he's even paying for your accommodations at the inn, oddly named the Melodious Harpy. As if the locals even know what a harpy is.
Well, you haven't had a good sleep for a while, there are still a few hours till morning and it's spitting rain. The good captain is having your things taken to the inn for you. You might as well get some sleep and see what this place looks like in the morning.
Wherever here is exactly...
